Viewing Exif Data

When you send or upload images, the exif data will still be intact. Some social media removes EXIF data. Make sure when taking pictures, disable location tagging and other information.

Basic Usage

Syntax: exiftool [file]

exiftool IMG_001.jpg

List supported file extensions

exiftool -listf

Save Exif data to a file

exiftool [IMAGE] > [FILENAME]

Run the tool for the entire folder and save in a CSV file

exiftool -csv > /path/to/out.csv [FILE/DIR]
