Passive Reconnaissance

Passive Reconnaissance uses publicly available information to gather useful data about the target, this is also known as Open Source Intelligence (OSINT). A good practice when doing reconnaissance is to perform passive recon first and gather as much information of the target as you can before "touching" the target (Active Recon), this way you can gather information without alerting the target.
